A COMPREHENSIVE EXPERIENCE PACKAGE

We have created a comprehensive experience package for those who want to learn about Greek culture, dance, eat, listen to Greek music and learn about some aspects of life in the past. This is more than just food and music. The Zafiro Experience Greek Night is an interactive event, where guests can participate in every step. They will learn about the making of bread, olive oil, and traditional weaving looms. They will attend cooking lessons, but also participate in the creation of popular dishes under the instructions of a chef. They will dance and even dress the part with some of the best dancers in Greece. They will taste authentic recipes, made with love and the freshest of ingredients, served in elegantly decorated rotunda tables.

As soon as our guests arrive they are welcomed by a reception group and the managing director of the event at the area allocated for the introduction of the event.

A GUIDED
TOUR OF THE
PREMISSES

 

 

Hosts personally welcome all guests upon arrival and the guided tour starts from the old olive mill, followed by a tour of the massive patio overlooking the city of Athens. Then guests are invited to grill and taste pork skewers. Upon entering the indoor venue, hosts guide guests through the exhibits that include representations and artifacts of old professions, such as those of blacksmith, and shoemaker, and show them the traditional wood oven, the watermill and the old cabin.

Following the tour with the view, our guests are proceeding to the BBQ pergola, where they are offered chicken or pork souvlaki and are welcome to bake it themselves.

PRESENTATION
OF LONG FORGOTTEN
CRAFTS

 

We present our guests with 10 traditional, forgotten, Greek crafts, as coffee maker, barber, shoe maker, postman, seamstress, farrier, blacksmith etc. and then proceed to the old fashioned Greek cottage.

We are proud to present our guests with two of our traditional manual broadlooms, designed to work on both thin and thick materials, while the experienced seamstress will show how they operate.

TRADITIONAL
BREAD MAKING
IN GREECE

 

The bread tutorials consist of the three stages of bread making: The seed harvesting and threshing, the grinding of the seed in a traditional water mill and the actual operation of the traditional wood oven.

The olive oil tutorials consist of the main stages of oil making: Dissolving the olives, by rotating two huge stones around them, putting the mash into special envelopes, dividing the olive oil elements, dividing the olive oil itself.

COOK WITH OUR CHEF

 

 

As part of our interactive fun evening, guests will have the chance to learn how to prepare authentic Greek recipes from our chef. Everyone is offered a chef’s uniform, gloves and a toque blanche, and the preparation of moussaka begins, followed by the making of tzatziki, eggplant salad, and finally the authentic Greek salad. The moussaka is cooked in the traditional wood oven -located in the main indoor venue-, while pork skewers and dessert -usually orange pie- are prepared last. The cooking classes are very popular among guests, since they are given the chance to not only learn how these dishes are prepared, but also to participate in the process.

DANCE WITH THE BEST CREW IN GREECE

 

We have the pleasure and honor of presenting our team of highly experienced, professional and talented dancers. Offering us an amazing Greek Show every night and showing guests the steps of the most popular Greek folk dances from various parts of the country. The team are dressed in traditional costumes and perform for approximately one hour. As part of our interactive event, guests will also have the chance of trying out different authentic traditional costumes and dance with the crew.

AN EXCEPTIONAL AND EXCITING DINING EXPERIENCE

 

For the Zafiro Experience Greek Night, guests will have the chance to enjoy a fabulous dinner. After being seated at rotunda tables, they are served the hors d’oeuvres and salads, as well as white or red wine -unlimited quantity throughout the evening-, while the chef prepares in front of them the moussaka, eggplant salad, tzatziki and Greek salad. The dancing crews make several appearances during dinner, presenting different dances from various parts of the country. Guests are then served the main dish -which can vary upon request-, and then with dessert.
